Nah… just that my life is so boring that I couldn’t find a single thing to write on. I don’t travel extensively since money doesn’t grow on trees. I don’t party nor go for hyped events often since I prefer peacefulness over noise. Basically I lead a life that’s so quiet that, never mind.

Anyway, it’s not that there isn’t any interesting things that went on since I finished my to-do before the end of 2018!

1. Pilates Exam

So I finally cleared the hours required for the exam and completed both the practical & theory exam last week in stress and sickness! I was actually sick for 4 weeks since I caught a bad cold after getting my shoes and socks wet which I had no other options but to hold on for 3 hrs before i get home. By which, it became a full blown cold to high fever and completely no voice that lasted for 3 days before I could teach my classes in a soft and off tuned voice. And that resulted in me not being able to recover fully till now since I COULDN’T not teach if I don’t want to lose out on my incentive (it’s more of being penalized to me) thanks to the stupid rules of *! Freelancers like us are at disadvantage.

Anyway that’s not the main thing! I’m just waiting for the official result and cert from the school which I should get if nothing goes wrong. I panicked for nothing since some knowledge that you gained for the past 8 years will never fade away.

2. Bestie’s Wedding

Bridesmaid duty fulfilled! 23rd Dec, TODAY!

I guess we were extremely nice and mild compared to many horror stories I heard of gatecrash games despite being a bridesmaid for the 3rd time. Yes, my mom had been very helpful by constantly reminding me it’s already the THIRD time. *roll eyes*

Games doeesn’t involve much skills except singing with some yoga poses going on, dancing to… Baby shark in different style such as… chio bu!, showing meme faces and drawing! Are they easy?

And the above picture is just to show you how nice we were to them. Feeding them a yummy breakfast early in the morning!

Bitter: Bittergourd bread! It’s the small bittergourd thus I expect that to be super bitter.

Spicy: 2 shots. 1 of mala peanuts. The other of a combination – Tabasco sauce, wasabi, pepper and… ginger. Not just any ginger but ‘Wen Dong Jiang’ if I spelled correctly which is quite spicy! To be honest, the smell of this was… I actually had a second thought but :).

Sour: Too simple but the bride was being nice. 2 warhead candies at 1 shot.

Sweet: Good thing comes last. Mudshake vodka with marshmallow and M&M and gummy bear.

We had a big panic due to the weirdest thing that happen. The 10 promises paper went missing. Just missing despite everyone seeing it there minutes ago. No one saw it and we searched every possible place but it’s just missing. Was so afraid my bestie will get super upset especially she made it personally and it’s her big day. Thankfully I had a picture of it which more or less got us through the morning. *phew*

Everything else were as planned and for the first time I literally had a good experience of being a bridesmaid. She planned it well that we know what we were supposed to do. And with that, I did really became a “maid”, change gown, follow her to the toilet with that heavy gown (which I only saw on a show once and i couldn’t believe it actually happened), saw the tea ceremony up close for the first time, decorate the sidetable with the other bridesmaid… etc.

Tired by the start of the wedding lunch and I actually manage to drag myself home via the train before completely “knocked out” after shower for 3 hours. Just nice to compliment the 3 hrs of sleep i had last night or morning.

So happy for my bestie and knowing how much effort she made, I would say she rocks!

3. Planning of next trip

Where am I going? I’m not saying till after the trip is over. Which will only happen next year. :p

The planning is quite challenging for me. Unlike Korea which I quite familar with, this is somewhere new for me. I’m worry if the accomodation will be ok, if the itinary is relax enough and lastly, if I will get lost with the complicated train system.

Anyway till it happens, then I will update with a lengthy post or 2 just like how i did for Korea. I very much wants to go back to Korea but it’s time to venture out more.

Well at least i can share a photo of my new boots before the trip which I order from Qoo10. You won’t believe how much this cost. $20+ only! Although it’s from China, the quality is really good and comfy! I ordered the jacket from Qoo10 as well and it’s only $30+ with good quality too! Qoo10 is offically my favorite as compared to Ezbuy. I’m thankful that I forgo ordering from Ezbuy seeing the chaos for 11.11.
Before I end this post and knock out soon after since I’m quite ready to crawl back into bed, I decided to do a makeup list of what I used today. Because some of the products are too good to keep it to myself.

I can’t be bothered with makeups usually as i never like anything on my face while I work. Except for concealer, I leave my face as it is. But just to get the barely passable face for today since it’s a special occasion, these are all the things i used. *WHAT!*

P.s. This was after 8 hrs and i barely touch up for… I’m too tired to do so.

Base: The forever trusty Porefessional from Benefit. This is one product that I got hooked on after someone gave me for Xmas many years back. It makes my face look smoother and it was easier to apply everything else after. I only use it for… special occasions.

2nd layer: Cushion from Innisfree. A must have for casual day out. Got this from Korea when i got hooked on to Innisfree products.

Concealer: My must have! Used to love Laneige concealer but I find that Innisfree concealer was better for me. It was easier to cover as well.

Highlighter and whatever it is: From Etude house. To highlight and shade the face. I bad with this.

Eyeliners: I used 2 for today. Liquid liner from Dollywink which is this brand that you can get from Watsons. Better than any other big brand and easy to apply. The other one is a cream pencil liner from Etude House. Surprisingly it works well for me as I never like pencil liner. Finally able to draw the liner on the bottom of my eyes without pain and multiple strokes.

Eyeshadows: Sephora and M.A.C are the most common ones. But I’m not overly picky over brands for this but i want it to be sparkling! And white is a must have for me.

Tear eye liner: This is something new I got from Etude House which… I’m still figuring how to use since I’m so competent with makeup… not. But I believe it is used to achieve the eyes we see in Korean dramas/MV. Under the eyes.

Mascara: I love the brush for this Innisfree mascara. Easier for people with small eyes like me.

Blusher: This was a birthday gift from Sephora if I remembered correctly. Didn’t want something too red since it’s lunch not dinner, this was perfect.

Lipstick: Please pardon the state of this. Lipstick from Laneige. Love all four shades and I usually match 2 colors together. I love this as compared to the usual ones as it is smoother to apply with brush and it isn’t sticky and there isn’t a strong taste to it.

I’m have to admit that I prefer Asian brands as they seems to suit my skin better. Innisfree is the top of my list with Etude house and Laneige closer behind. Dollywink was a suprising discovery. Other than that, Sephora and M.A.C provides acceptable products as well except it comes with a higher price tag.

And that’s all for it’s been too long since I wrote and compressing everything into 1 is always easier than writing mutiple posts as useless as this. Ending off with a photo of yummy food that I had last weekend!

Heading off to sleep,

Pumpkin fest anyone?ย

Not the best of Gardens by the Bay but with the current 10% discount for tickets online… why not?

This place had became one of the most visited place of interest by me this year. Flora and fauna doesn’t really goes hand in hand with me, but as long as I don’t need to nurture plants, it’s good enough. P.s: I don’t have a green thumb afterall…

Anyway, let the pictures do the work since typing in the middle of the night always ended with me trying to correct my grammer and misspelled and mis-placed words.

Yes, the pumpkins are real. According to the sign above!

Menu always has assorted basket of (fill in the blank) but here we have an assortment of pumpkins. *Though my mom was quite skeptical with the ่‘ซ่Šฆ like thingy right at the top.*

This looks awefully weird. Especially with the banana sticking out of the watermelon. P.s. Opps… you can’t undo what you think of it once it started.

This is freakish. Please don’t look at this at night… or maybe mt warning is just too late?!

Could’t realize a view with the reflections of all the bright orange lights against the night sky!

These were part of the mid autumn festival I would think. Halloween meets Lanterns.

Overall it’s not as fascinating as the usual flower fest. I was vastly disappointed to not see any curved pumpkins with candles (or led lights inside) in true Halloween style. Yes, the paintings of pumpkins were interesting but I would expect some traditional elements in it. Would had rather go for the flowers next time.

But at least i finally visited cloud dome. If I could stay in there the whole day… the air just feels so refreshing! But true to words, 1 off visit is enough.

Since I visited this place on a Sat night! It’s crowded like ><. 1 must catch though is the night lights at Supertree Grove!

This is amazingly gorgeous. And there was a light show accompanied by beautiful music for about 10 mins. You can see the crowds lying on the floor just to watch this. By the way we stumbled into this unexpectedly. Was planning to take a look at the Lanterns outside but we got lost in the dark and looped about. By the time we watch this show, we were too tired and hungry to continue.

Satay by the bay

No pictures of the food unfortunately as we were hungry as a ghost. Note: we chose the Halal option as our friends are muslims.

Satays and chicken wing from the popular stall were awesome but the queue system was a mess.

Zichar aka Bbq was good as well. We had BBQ stingray, a beef horfun, a sambal kangkong and a chilli padi lala. Good but… it’s NOT spicy enough! Or should i say at all!

This place is catered more for tourists to be honest. Everything taste sweeter than normal. Prevent diabetes and healthy eating much? :X

Anyway there is a steamboat/bbq buffet here which was featured in an article by Got halal will travel site. Looks good and would love to give it a try 1 day though. Healthy eating not at all at this place.

Time to say good night before I deplete the battery of my just charged phone. My favorite picture of the night to end it off! I look so happy and relax nowadays.

With love of pumpkins but not horror,

1 month in… and Gudetama!

1 month in the “unemployed” category (*technically) and still surviving as it seems. Maybe not totally umemployed but still…

August was quite a month and thank goodness for the number of replacement classes available for that’s my only source of income now. Plus I finally “upgraded” myself by going on course.

Anyway that’s not the main thing. Say hello to…

When to the cafe last month to celebrate our little Prince’s Birthday and I’m impressed. The food and service are good! And super adorable! I’m just gonna show you some of the food! P.s. Too hungry and too lazy to take photos when the rest of my friends are doing so. ๐Ÿ˜›

All day breadfast!

The steak I took! Yummy! But since this is a kids friendly restaurant, you don’t get to choose the doneness…

Ok… let’s be honest here, most of the photos I took are all eggs but not the full dish! So ใ‹ใ‚ใ„ใ„๏ผ

Food is on the expensive side due to the cartoon character. Portion is big though… advisable to share instead. And since this is kids friendly like I mentioned earlier on, the chili sauce is… sweet instead.

The restaurant went the extra mile to prepare the dessert plate (we only chose 1 cake but they gave us a set) and sang Birthday Song along with us. Really a wonderful experience!

Overall, worth visiting at least once! Be prepared to queue as it was crowded on weekends but we made reservation so it didn’t really matter to us.

3 Temasek Boulevard, 01-361 Suntec City Mall, 038983

1 last photo to end it off! With the Birthday boy and everyone else!
Back to upgrading myself! Took up PAI pilates course so as to get myself internationally certified. I took the Aug course which was held for two weeks (weekday) in the afternoon and I’m dead tired with the travelling and rushing for classes and full on overloading of brain. Just thankful that I tested out of the ABP course as I had enough knowledge from my aerobics instructor course and in-house training plus my own self study to pass the short quiz.

Meet my coursemates!

With Angie, 1 of our trainers.

And Erick!

And lastly Sharon!

So now it’s the clearing of hours before exam that is a pain in the ass. Like literally. Clocking observation hours with limited classes is a nightmare and seriously tiring. Oh well, what is needed to be done has to be done. Chose PAI due to the course date and timing as well as liking and preferring the method/style.

But I didn’t know beforehand that so much extra is needed or paying extra is required. Exam fees ($300) is separated from the course fees which is already >$1000. Mentorship fees which is the package for you to clock observation hours and stuff is at $300. Thankfully I had the early bird promo which means got 1 month mentorship free. And… I’m determined not to fork out extra just like my coursemate as money are hard earned. Especially for me!

My opinion is… pilates is an expensive skill

Signing off before heading for work… cause no work means no income.

I can fly!

Dragged myself out of bed on my so called “off day” for a workout. What’s so special you might ask?

Well, an elephant like me can “fly” in class!

I very much doubt you can spot me here cause as per usual, I hid myself right at the corner in the back of the room. And I blend in cause I was in black from head to toe. :p

Fun factor was there and it does need you to take a leap of faith to do some of the jumps and stuff. You have to trust it to let go.

The class is supposed to be 1 hr but I felt that with all the fidgeting of the harnesses and stuff, 1 hr wasn’t enough at all. Around 15 mins was used just to get as noobs into the harness which by the way was a pain in the ass. Literally. I have to thank the regular goers and the instructor for helping us to get all of us ready.

Anyway back to it, the basics were taught and put together for a short routine. From running to squating to push ups to planks to jumping! Even for a fitness instructor like me, I had a hard time squating, maybe I was too short? And I nearly fall flat with 1 wrong step but… i’m actually “floating” above the floor. ๐Ÿ™‚

Instructor Kat is really awesome and we were quite lucky to try her class as the local instructors will be taking over from next week onwards.

In conclusion:

The duration is too short and for the price of $28… rather steep for a class! As much as I love it, once is enough. Especially when I’m already “out of job” wef today. ๐Ÿ˜‚  *Need to watch my expenses as I’m officially a freelancer as of now with no CPF and unstable income.*

And the location at the Arena is a little out of the way for me and there is only 1 bus from Serangoon MRT station. But really worth the try!

With the bubbly instructor Kat and the ladies whom I joined as a group to go today!

Signing off,

Quickie Lunchie

It doesn’t take much to know who is always there for you. Dearest bestie dropped by my workplace for the last time for a quick lunch with me!

Fish and Chick @ Commonwealth Koufu

This stall caught my attention when it opened at Koufu few months back! As the name implied, it’s selling point is… no brainer! Fish and chips or in their case, my favorite from them is their fish and pasta!

Recommended: Fish!

Depending on whether you prefer pasta or fries, just know that their fish is really delicious!

So far i have tried both their Salted Egg Yolk pasta & Fish and Chili Crab pasta & Fish. (*Shown above)

Based on what i ate yesterday, the standard did dropped slightly for the pasta as the sauce are too watery but the fish is still awesome as usual! I gotten their coleslaw as well and it’s one of thr creamiest I ever ate, in a good way!

Had also tried their double fish and chips before with both sauce and it’s a good choice if you prefer a lot of fishes and no pasta! Unfortunately I was too hungry at that point of time to take a picture of it!

Would I recommend it? Yes!

Price wise is a little pricey for a food court but it’s worth it.

P.s. Wanted to try their new lobster menu but it’s out of stock.

As I said it’s the last time as I’m jumping into the uncertainties in 2 days time after serving my 3 months notice at work. So much emotions but it’s now or never. Bravest thing I ever did and might also be one of the stupidest thing I did as well. Now to freedom. Time of my own, to replace classes as and when I can on top of the classes I’m holding, to upgrade my skills be it old or new, to explore the small world outside and to take a short break before my next step! And, no need to deal with #*#^รทโ‚ฌ$ยฅ(! Letting go is hard but it’s a start to step out of my comfort zone! Wish me all the best!

P.s. Time to get back on track as I’m gaining so much weight!

Needs lot of luck,

When kind words came too late…

Skeptical. The only thought I have with all the kind words I’m hearing. No offenses, maybe they really meant it but why wait till now? When everything is coming to an end?

I guess i kind of understand how people feels during the last few weeks of ~.

The anger and disappointment just breaks your heart to a point that you just want to do the minimum.

That said, I don’t believe in ending things on a sour note. Because you will never know that you will go a big round but come back to the same place again. Moreover, I just can’t not fulfil my duties to the end. It’s this irritating trait of mine. -_-

Oh well, appreciations can make a big difference but it came way too late. I’m already heartbroken. Don’t talk about me being ungrateful (I am thankful but that cannot ๅฝ“้ฅญๅƒ) but I kept quiet for the past years only to be used and underappreciated.

And someone else can easily replace me.

A Sunday of mine

I find it hard to explain my occupation to people. Should I just say that I’m an instructor? Or should I say I’m an assistant manager? To be honest, I don’t usually bother with it until I have to fill up forms. -_-

SO, I decide to give you a short glimpse of my Sunday, a day of an instructor.

Sunday is the only day that I don’t have to care about anything else but teach classes. Meaning no management work to do!

Planning my OOTD isn’t rocket science. I will usually end up with the clothes on top or things that I wear often. Nor am I super picky with the design or the brand. Here I have with me a Vivre pants, a Nike sports Bra and an Uniqlo tank top.

Vivre is a local brand that is comfy and nice at an affordable price. I gave up on Nike long ago as it got too expensive for my liking with the deteriorating quality  Especially for sports bra; the thin understrap is just a turn off.

Morning is usually a rush for me cause… I’m not a morning person and I start my Sunday just 1 MRT station away from home. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Pardon the makeup-less me. I usually wear only a concealer and sun block on Sunday. Also… why would you wear makeup for workout? Clogged pores, dry skins… etc. No thanks!

The sunblock that I uses daily is this. L’oreal UV perfect aqua essence face mist. Easy to use, just spray on over make up (or without) and done! Fuss free and you don’t have to worry about your face looking pale because sunscreen are whitish in color.

1 more item that I’m currently using is this hair mist that I got from Korea. Since I rarely spray perfumes or body mist, I decided to spray on hair mist instead. At least something smells nice.

Packing my bag in a rush cause I totally forgot about it the night before.

  • Clothes – Checked
  • Mic box – Checked
  • Gloves – Checked
  • Ipad – Checked
  • Phone Charger – Checked
  • Wallet – Checked

Popped my Folic Acid pills and out of the house in slippers. Casual Sunday is always the best.

Folic acid is used to try and increase my haemoglobin level which unfortunately also means that I can’t donate blood even if want since your haemoglobin level needs to hit a certain number to be able to do so. At least, once i started on the pills, I don’t get as tired out easily as last time (although I still will if I overwork).

Earphones on, and time to speed walk to the MRT station. I’m ready to teach when I reaches the studio as I do not need to change or stuff. Soooo reaching with just a few minutes to spare is never an issue for me.

Today’s schedule:

  • 10.30am Stretchfit at Tampines
  • 1.30pm Energysculpt at Kovan
  • 2.30pm Kickbox at Kovan
  • 5pm Aqua at Tampines

The look after 1 morning stretch class. This class is one of our signature class and I look forward to it as this is my only stretching class throughout the week.

Before I head off to Kovan, it ‘s lunchtime alone! I’m more than okay to eat alone, so I have no idea what’s the fuss about.

Beef Udon with Tamago for lunch with lots of spring onions! Foodies alert (*unfortunately) and I’m always willing to spend a little bit more on food. Also, by the time I’m done with morning class on Sunday, it’s super difficult to grab seats at the food court or hawker centre. Especially today! Cause it’s Father’s Day. Everywhere from food court to restaurants have a big crowd and a queue already.

After lunch will be my lonely train ride to Kovan. And today, the weather is just perfect to sleep in instead. I was seriously praying for the rain to continue till night!

My dose of Teh-O ping gao and less sugar is required when I reach the next branch.

2 back to back of my favorite classes on Sunday are always FUN! I get to torture people and they would whine and complain but in the end, they still turn up every week.

Energysculpt is a toning class with dumbbells. I love to incorporate some of Pop Pilates move for my mat workout and I love to listen to how much my members whine with each movements.

Kickbox as the name implies, its kicks and punches. My class have a routine to it and it’s quite hilarious at time when someone suddenly forgets a move in between.

Finishing the classes drenched is super satisfying.

I’m extremely blessed to have a member who offers to drive me to Tampines every week. Usually she will attend the 5pm class but because it’s fasting month, she can’t but she still drops me off. Extremely thankful to her! โค

Remember that I mentioned that I hope it continues to rains? Well as much as i love to teach, it’s just that we are being naughty about not having to do classes if it storms since it’s outdoor. ๐Ÿ˜›

The rain did came again eventually, 5 mins before my class ends. And it’s full out thunderstorm again. I’m always lucky that it never rains when it’s my class. It’s either it stops before my class or starts after my class. ๐Ÿ˜ช

Aqua aerobics is a water based workout. It looks easy, but because of the water environment, it can get tough but less impactful on joints as compared to on land.

I will usually join them in the pool if I can, as long as I’m not ill or recovering. Joining them means I have to shower before I go home (save money!).

And that concludes my lazy Sun-Work day!

Instructors have odd working hours and they have to travel from 1 places to another. People thinks that our job is easy but they have no idea at all. As I’m bounded to a company, I had it slightly easier but freelance instructors definitely have a more interesting day than me.

By the way this is just part of my job scope. Similarly there are people who thinks that I have it easy but they tend to forget that I have management work to do as well. That’s why I find it hard when people ask me what’s my occupation. But it’s ok, talking is always easy just like the way people pushes the blames to us. No point explaining at all.

Anyway, being an instructor is really fulfilling. The satisfaction from seeing how much your members improve in terms of stamina, coordinate and fitness is just awesome. I don’t have a big head or a big ego, but to be complimented once in a while will motivate you to work harder on improving your classss for them. And we all do need a pat in a back at times. I don’t need gifts or public compliments on social media, but I do appreciate some recognition of my effort from the everyone as well.

With that, signing off…

And to Essa who will gain more freedom and peacefulness in less than 2 months time. Looking forward to picking up new skills and exploring more options and not being overused and unappreciated anymore!
